Meet The Man Who Has Lovingly Taken Care Of a Grizzly Bear For 37 Years

At first glance, this 1,240 pound grizzly bear looks like he could rip Doug apart with his claws. And he can!

BUT, he would never do it, because he loves Doug, as Doug has been his care taker for his entire life. Their unique friendship began in 1977 when Doug adopted Bart from a zoo and trained him to be in films.

Bart the bear has appeared in hundreds of films, including The Bear, The Great Outdoors, Legends of the Fall, Clan of the Cave Bear, and The Edge, and he has even appeared backstage at the Academy Awards.

Doug says the key to training these animals is to maintain control, because as very intelligent animals they will test their limits and see what they can get away with.

Aware that the grizzly’s future as it still remains today is quite uncertain, Doug decided to buy some property in Montana—habit deemed not just appropriate and suitable, but considered prime habitat for grizzly bears.

He purchased 240 acres of wild land adjoining protected land in Pine Butte Preserve along Montana’s eastern front of the Rocky Mountains.

Plague Spreads in Colorado as Three More Patients Found

Three more plague cases were found in Colorado, a week after the first infection of the deadliest form of the disease was reported in the state in a decade.

The man initially reported with pneumonic plague on July 11 is hospitalized. Two of the new cases also had pneumonic plague, while the third had a milder form. All four cases may be linked to the original man’s dog, which died from the illness, state health officials said. – Bloomberg

Plague outbreaks have occurred due to numerous sources or circumstances in history, with many of the earliest outbreaks happening due to poor sanitation, low communication levels, and superstitious fears and hysteria.  Going back to the time of the Byzantine Empire, the plague that ravaged the Eastern Roman Empire was namedafter the hated ruler Justinian, and was believed to have been provided by the gods for some unknown sins the leadership had done.

At a meeting of cancer specialists at the University of Nairobi last week, reproductive health expert, Nelly Mugo, said that even as we take protective measures using condoms against most STIs including HIV/Aids, the rubber sheaths cannot provide 100 per cent protection against the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV).

\“Condoms offer 60 per cent of HPV thus the virus can spread through skin-to-skin contact with infected areas of the skin not covered by the condom such as the scro*tum, an*us, or vu*lva,” Dr Mugo said.The 2014 Kenya Demographic and Health Survey, released last week, shows that male condoms are the most popular method among sexually active unmar
ried women.
But the chance of females infecting men is estimated at less than five per cent of the rates of male-to-female transmission. There are more than 100 types of HPV and about 13 of these are cancer causing, with HPV types 16 and 18 causing approximately 70 per cent of all cervical cancers worldwide. Sadly, it’s physically difficult to tell whether your partner has the HPV virus unless they have private part warts, yet those who do not have visible signs can also spread the virus.
Since cervical cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths among adult women, in the developing world, and the second most common cancer among women worldwide, preventive measures include getting a pap smear for women and/or getting vaccinated. My canines do this since they know me as a major aspect of the pack. I invest a great deal of energy with them. I encourage them, they can rest in my room, I practice them. I do everything with them.Because of the way I prepare them, to them I’m the pioneer. In any given circumstance they will take a gander at me for heading. They simply taking after my non-verbal communication and the orders I use in preparing.

In 2013, Augusto posted a video of himself strolling five untethered German Shepherds through the quit boulevards of Hyannis, which rapidly became famous online. At his preparation pet hotel, he says he can control up to 15 free-strolling puppies all the while.
